Research Opportunities
We are in the process of fully curating our numerous artifacts. There are opportunities for individuals wishing to research individual artifacts, collections, or structures. We are currently preparing to computerize our collections management process using PastPerfect software. Individuals wishing to utilize our collections are encouraged to make an appointment. Some of our notable documents have been scanned and are available online as a collection in the East Texas Research Center, the regional archive in Steen Library, Stephen F. Austin State University. Graduate students in the SFASU History Department's master's level Public History program have written historic structure reports and performed curatorial duties for Millard's Crossing. In early 2009 the board approved a collections management policy based on professional standards. The staff now utilizes a procedures handbook based on the policy to manage new donations.
