1860s Log Office
This little log structure was built as a land office and was located on the first county road going east off of Highway 59, north of the Appleby water tower. It had many uses over the years and is typical of the size and shape of most offices in nineteenth-century East Texas. After the Civil War, milled lumber and bricks became more available and affordable and so few people built log offices in later years.
