1860 Double Corn Crib

Picture
The corn crib, originally part of a double corn crib on the Millard farm, was used for storing corn, an important trade item and staple of the economy.  The original structure had no chinking between the logs so that air would keep the corn dry while stored there. This half of the building houses early Texas farm equipment.  The second half was used the in the construction of the country store.  Mrs. Thomas added the toolshed lean-to in approximately 1976.
